Tardini beyond the italian renaissance in Doha
The latest Tardini workshop at Al Hazm blends ancient and modern flavours in a creative dialogue which narrates the Maison’s new project
Doha, the capital of Qatar, is a must-see for enthusiasts and collectors, an oasis of creativity where museums, galleries and magnificent works flourish, designed by archistars from all over the world.
The skyline boasts 172 recently-built skyscrapers that overawe the typical sand-coloured houses and the ancient souk. In the Al Markhiya area, on top of a hill, stands Al Hazm, the luxurious complex where a European atmosphere and Arab hospitality come together. The complex is made of Tuscan marbles and inspired by Italian Renaissance architecture.
Inside the building called “Siena” is the Tardini boutique, designed by architect Sara Bellini who, more than ever on this occasion, has recovered the styles of the Savoy palaces, adapting them to Arabian conviviality. The new store concept aims in fact at creating a more intimate and personal atmosphere, while maintaining the brand’s values: exclusivity, prestige and distinction.
Marbles, precious woods, rose gold finish brass and polished steels, ground glasses and Frau leathers, the large arched recesses, and the “flattened” gilded baroque frames are recurring features in Tardini boutiques around the world, but here the space revolves around a comfortable lounge with wrap-around chairs, where customers can take a look at the Tardini collection, try on the sumptuous sandals of the Royal Falcon line in American Alligator or…. simply converse.
