Thunderbirds is a British science fiction television series designed and produced in the 1964 by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. The Andersons were the creators and makers of the “Supermarionation”, a technology to animate the puppets. The voices of the characters were first recorded and then the sound signal of the voices was connected to sensors placed in the head of the puppets that “animated” the mouth, giving the feeling that they were speaking. The other parts of the body instead were moved with thin threads connected to the limbs of the marionette.
